Well I have had Gastro since Tues night and it wasnt pretty I can tell ya. This is my first day of feeling relatively normal again. I have been bed ridden violently ill thus have no news to report.
I havent seen the video yet and wont attempt on this dialup.. have to wait for a tech to come and properly get my new broadband connection working.

Thanks guys - it was a bit of a shock. I've been ill for 6 weeks with aches and pains, shivers, sore throat, bad tummy etc etc. My GP insists its IBS, but considering that the whole of my family have had this thing in various different forms, it tends to suggest that it is either a virus or flu. Some days I can't even get out of bed. Anyway, on Friday I had this wierd episode where everything started blacking out and things went numb. It was either a reaction to a new medication, or drinking too much water when I attempted to rehydrate myself. It was probably the most frightening experience of my life - and what made it worse was that the kids were there to witness it.
I've learnt my lesson, though. I've been trying to keep going as normal, but sometimes you have to give in and rest up. To be honest, it was bliss just to lie in a hospital bed for a day and do nothing. The little old lady opposite me must have said 'it's so boring in here, doing nothing' about a million times, and every time I thought 'no, it's just what I needed'. I think it's so hard when you're a mum to just give in when you're ill. I haven't taken great care of myself for a long time, and that was certainly a wake up call.
Kat I hope you're recovering well - believe me I do sympathise!

Sharon that must have been very frightening.
Glad you're now resting up and hope that very soon you're feeling completely recovered.

Awww Sharon that sounds very scary! I hope you're feeling much better very soon. Hope you're now getting plenty of rest, take care hun

Ooh err Sharon, You must've been very scared hun. I hope you're feeling better now but you must continue to take it easy as and when you can. I know that's nigh on impossible when you've got small children but even if you can take a breather for a few minutes, that's better than running yourself ragged. You'll have to set aside some 'me time' at least once every day, ok!

Thanks everyone - I am trying to take it easy right now - hence I'm here when I should be doing SOMETHING. I'm sure it will pass now. I think the last couple of months have worn me down - I most definitely overworked, while at the same time the doctors made me so paranoid about my stomach problem that I haven't eaten properly for months. I think I hit the same sort of energy gap you have when you have a new baby - you know the whole cycle of not enough to sleep, eat or drink until your body says 'no more'. I'm just taking it slowly, though know that is also a little difficult as we are taking the kids to Edinburgh this weekend. It's their first time flying, and they are so excited I can't let them down. It might actually be the pick me up I need.
Thanks for all your good wishes. It does mean a lot.

Sharon so sorry to hear of your illness! I sure hope it can sort itself out.
It sounds alot like you are going through what I went through years back.. which I already told the story of awhile back on ATMC. I know what its like anyways. For years I was on all sorts of diets to avoid irritating my stomach.
